Yalla Momos- Dubai

Momo's or steamed dumplings are basically from the Nepal/Himalaya side.. I have been wanting to go to Yalla Momos for a reallyyyyyyyyyyyyy long time and finally I did.. oh boy am I glad I visited this place.. The place isn't hard to find in Karama.. Its small but dont let that put you off! There is space outside to sit around with friends and stuff but I sat inside so I could take pictures of the interiors and of course the momo's in proper light. Let's come down to the food shall we :D we started with Spinach and cheese momo's and it was awesome! my dad had the chicken momo's and he gave it the thumbs up too.. I wanted to try next the mushroom and cheese momo's as well as the vegetable momo's but I knew I wouldn't be able to finish both plates and the lovely waiter suggested that he could give me BOTH(3 pieces) each.. such lovely service I tell you :) BOTH the mushroom & veggie momos were fab.. my fav among all the moms was definitely the spinach and cheese momo's :) the chilli sauce come in 2 types.. HOT and Slightly tamed down version.. Of course I loved the HOT version :D check it out peeps.. you don't wanna miss this place!

Brownie Point Dubai

My company ordered a cake for our 2nd anniversary celebration from Brownie point. The topping was realllyyyyyyyyyyyyy sweet! but the cake as in the actual base of the cake below was nice and satisfying. The best part was it was vegetarian cake :D as in egg-less :D so I'm happier :D

Looks yummy right :D

Ewaan Lounge- Downtown Dubai

Was lucky enough to visit Ewaan for our company party. The place is lovely and tucked away from prying eyes. A gorgeous pool side view with shisha. The food was nice as well. Since I'm vegetarian I cannot comment on the meat dishes. But the salads and desserts were delicious. My colleagues gave raving reviews about the sushi(from my Japanese colleagues) Oysters and fried prawns as well. The dessert I loved was definitely the saffron creme brulee, DELICIOUS!

Chaanakyas Restaurant

I have heard awesome reviews of this pace from some colleagues and friends but since the branch I knew about was really far (Al Quoz) I couldn't visit them.. but then I came to know they opened a branch in Dubai AL Nahda and I just had to try it out!

I am thoroughly impressed with the clean interiors and exteriors.. The plants in front all have their names on them :) nice little touch I feel... now lets come down to the food shall we :D

The food was just awesome. I had the veg meals (thali) and the dishes (sambar, moru curry, beans, payasam etc) were cooked to perfection! not to mention unlimited samabaram (buttermilk)! The best part was the chammandi (coconut with chilli) I could eat that forever! My dad had chicken biryani and he was impressed with the flavor too!

Hubby ordered chicken meals and said the chicken fry was amazing! The waiters were helpful in explaining each and every dish and all smiles :D loved the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chef Lanka- Karama- Dubai

This would be my first ever post in my food blog :) Chef Lanka is a restaurant I've always wanted to try every time we pass by it to go to the Indian restaurants in Karama. After our trip to Sri Lanka and falling in love with their spicy food I decided alright lets do it, lets go to Chef Lanka.

The place is not grand and over the top. Simple decor of Sri Lankan facemasks on the walls. I was bit disappointed that I could not get Rice and curry, which is a staple of Sri Lanka.. The ROTI items were also available for dinner only, hence had to settle for Fried rice and devilled mushrooms both of which was tasty :) served with special srilankan chilli paste.. Also ordered the onion sambol which was SPICY! just the way I love it..

My dad and hubby ordered a dish "Lamprais" which is basically stock infused rice+fried chicken+egg+eggplant and some other curry wrapped inside banana leaf and they said it tasted good too :)

Don't go there expecting great interiors but they have done their best in the limited space.. will surely go back there to try the Rotis and Appams perhaps for dinner :)
